Now for some truth about glass and discolouration - the causes and how to prevent marks coming back.

Glass is actually not flat. It has lots of microscopic ridges and valleys.

When water is sprayed onto the glass, the H2O of water eventually evaporates - but the minerals in the water (mostly lime, iron and calcium carbonate - sometimes with copper and others) cannot evaporate. These minerals dry on hard and settle into the valleys.

When you clean the glass, the cleaners do not work on the minerals (which is liquified rock!), and once the cleaned glass dries you can still see the spots and mineral marks.

There are only two ways to remove the mineral marks:

Hard scrubbing by hand with Jif
  or C Thru or similiar

Machine polishing with similar products -
only if you know what you are doing as
  this can cause scratching

Or using VERY strong acids -
not recommended as it can ruin the
shower mouldings, tray, tiles and grout etc
Water borne acid does not easily damage glass. It is the alkali minerals in the water that causes the discolouration and build up on your glass.

Water filters cannot totally fix this, as very minute (too small for lower cost filtration methods) mineral amounts will build up eventually.

It is best to get a shower cleaning professional to do the clean, or set aside hours and lots of elbow grease with a white/red scrubber pad and Jif.

NEVER use any green scrubber pads, scourers or razor blades as these are too abrasive. Safety glass is very easy to scratch - YES IT IS!

Soap is not the issue with staining. Soap just sticks to the mineral AFTER the minerals have built up on the glass.

The issue is the water borne minerals. Squeegee blades only remove surface water and not the water in the ridges and valleys which has the minerals in it. The blades will SLOW the build up, but will not stop it. A towel dry every time will stop the build up dead, but if you can't be bothered drying every day, then get our glass protection coating applied.

After our coating is applied, you will only need to do a quick squeegee down and your away!
